There is one trial in children using bismuth-based quadruple therapy that showed an eradication rate of 84%.[93] In children, quadruple therapy with metronidazole, clarithromycin, amoxicillin and omeprazole was effective, with an eradication rate of 94%.[95] Furazolidone, metronidazole, amoxicillin and a proton pump inhibitor cured 80% of the cases.[96] Amoxicillin, omeprazole, clarythromycin and Lactobacillus eradicated more than 90% of the infection.[97] Because quadruple therapy is used as a second-line treatment, more pediatric research in this area is urgently needed.
