The degree of PTS was determined by recording and comparing, in all animals, ABR threshold in response to broadband clicks and 8 kHz tone bursts, and the results reflect this assessment protocol, and likely represent a large extent of the cochlea, since broadband clicks deliver a wide range of frequencies.
